The No.7 has been made iconic over the years at United, with a star-studded lineage of wearers including George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sancho currently wears the number for Dortmund, where he has continued to impress this season, notching a remarkable 17 goals and 19 assists in just 35 games.
On-loan forward Alexis Sanchez currently occupies the number but it’s reported that he may be stripped of it if he remains at the club as Sancho is seen as the future.
It’s claimed that Dortmund have conceded that the 20-year-old will leave in the summer and will sell to the highest bidder, with Chelsea also keenly interested.
Meanwhile, United and Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham are both in a race to sign veteran centre-back Diego Godin, according to reports.
The Mirror report that Spurs want the 34-year-old defender, who moved from Atletico Madrid to Inter last summer but hasn’t featured regularly for Antonio Conte’s side. It’s claimed United are also in the race – despite the fact a centre-back isn’t a priority for Solskjaer in the next transfer window.
